Co-Founder
Less Is More Consulting

First & foremost I am a Mumpreneur to 2 little ladies Lilly & Cadi Mae. I set up Less Is More Consulting with my amazing fellow Mumpreneur Sophie Doran as we needed to simplify our own lives as busy working parents and because we genuinely care and enjoy making things happen for others.

Through leaving our corporate careers we are incredibly grateful we can now do both by implementing solutions to step change business growth and being able to be more present for our families.

With over 45 years’ experience across FMCG organisations across all sectors / segments we consistently saw businesses overcomplicate their ways of working, and this led to ineffective delivery. We simplify, we cut through & we make change happen…..

On a personal level my passions are supporting charities close to my heart , and being an active ally on all areas of ED&I but especially mental health, fertility, menopause and neurodiversity.

Our names are James and John, and we are the co-founders of MAKAGROUP Services. We are a cleaning company that specialises in cleaning commercial properties, residential homes, and student accommodations.

We started the business in October of 2023 year, initially focusing on providing services for students. However, we quickly realized that students don't prioritize cleaning services as much as we expected. As a result, we decided to expand our offerings to include commercial and residential properties.

We have been able to grow a large social media following by "cleaning places nobody asked us to clean." This unique approach has helped us gain visibility and connect with a broader audience.

Founder
ECO for ALL

I set up ECO for ALL 3 years ago with the sole purpose of supporting anyone who would like to live more sustainably but is stuck on the next steps - and also to make eco-friendly living as affordable as possible. This led me to create my RAMP up your Sustainability program, enabling me to share Realistic, Affordable, Manageable and Practical tips on small changes to everyday habits. My clients are living proof that these small changes create a bigger and long lasting difference. I have also helped them to discover there is a lot of money to be saved! As a mum of 2 who has been mindful of how we live for many years, I've researched everything from trusted brands and accreditations to look out for, to the positive impact being more eco-friendly has on our health. Sharing the many benefits of living a more eco-friendly lifestyle is my passion.

Ambassador
HoardingUK

I am so excited to have been asked to be involved with the Clean & Tidy Awars, as a person who is living with an overwhelming collection aka overwhelming hoard.

This knowledge is shared from my own experience of 30 years or so - it is not just about clearing a hoard or cleaning a property, these are both important, it is also about decluttering and clearing the Mind and finding out the 'WHY'. My journey began when I attended a Hoarding Support Group run by a local charity, Mary Francis Trust, for about 2 years. I can never thank my local GP enough for having this knowledge and sharing it with me - my 'road of recovery' could begin but only after my 'road of recognition' had begun.

I speak really openly about hoarding disorder/behaviour, to share my knowledge and experience to hopefully help others to know that where there is hope, and a desire to change, there is help. I appeared in an episode of Hoarders: Buried Alive for Channel 5, produced by Crackit Productions. I was one of the first people to 'speak up and speak out' about the effects of hoarding disorder/behaviour. They did not clear/clean my house as that's not the single answer, there is normally much more to think about and discuss.

I want more people to understand the 'condition' is not a lifestyle choice, there is often a reason WHY and this needs to be addressed, like most life coping mechanisms/addictions, although a hoard is very visible and can be very overwhelming. I am very much about 'regaining my sparkle' and being on my journey out of the darkness, struggling with mental health, depression and sadness and now moving forward in my life and I want to share my knowledge, to create more awareness and help others.

Editor
Your Home Magazine

Mel is the Editor of Your Home, the UK’s best-selling value homes magazine, which provides affordable decor inspiration, practical home improvement advice, and attainable real homes and makeovers to its readers every month.

She has been obsessed with interior décor since the age of 14, when she ill-advisedly painted her bedroom a lurid lime green. Thankfully, her understanding of colour has come a long way since then, and she is currently redecorating her second home, one room at a time.

Before joining Your Home, Mel was editor of Homes & Antiques magazine, so she has a deep appreciation of quality design, and she tries to live by the William Morris ethos: ‘Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful’. She rarely succeeds, but she tries!

Marketplaces consultant
TymeOnline

I am really excited and honoured to be asked to join the Clean & Tidy Home Show Awards Council!

A little bit about me - I have worked in e-commerce for over 20 years specialising in marketplaces with roles at Amazon, ebay and as a consultant for brands wishing to sell online. I help to advise brands on the best routes to market for their particular products – a landscape that is constantly evolving. Established platforms such as Amazon and ebay are great options, but new opportunities such as B&Q, Tesco, The Range, Debenhams and Tiktok are shaking up the market. In my own time, I love long walks, the theatre, modern art and keeping fit. In addition, I am focused on decluttering my living/work space, which involves constant clear-outs, attractive storage solutions and a reduction in buying new things. I also like to clean in a time- efficient manner and without using harmful chemicals.
